Shale shaker decides performance of the whole solids control system

We know, shale shaker is the first phase solids control equipment in drilling fluids system, known as a key mud recycling equipment. Shale shaker decides performance of the whole solids control system. It can ensure the following stages mud treatment effect and service life. The maintenance of oilfield shale shaker is important as well.

The following are the maintenance tips:

1. Remove the dust on shell to cool the motor basing when the surface is clean.
2. Inspect once a month if the fix parts of motor base and nuts of end cover loosen. If they do, stop the machine and tighten them.
3. Add the LGHP2 lubrication once with filling gun. The filling is no more than 26g for each shaft. Re-add every 2000 hours.
4. Observe the temperature raising of motor (the temperature raising means the running temperature subtract ambient temperature ) once half a month to see if the temperature rises abnormally. If the running temperature of bearing of motor shell exceeds 100℃, consult the KOSUN in time.
5. Check if the cable is scored or damaged. Change it if damaged then. Once three months.

6. Ensure the grounding resistance of motor shell is no more than 0 ohms. Once three months.

Maintenance of all drilling fluids mud cleaner assembly

As one of the important equipment for solid/liquid separation system, the drilling mud cleaner, also called desander and desilter assembly, mainly consists of three parts including desander, desilter and the underflow screen. It can achieve separation of two stage with the hydrocyclones mounted over the shale shaker. Compared with the independent desander and desilter, the product has much higher working efficiency. Same as the shale shaker in function, the equipment is designed rationally with compact structure, small volume and powerful performance.
In mud system, using a oilfield mud cleaner is to send the mud through a hydrocyclone, because it would be too thick for the cleaner to effectively work with. A hydrocyclone is a device that uses force to push purified mud through the top of the cyclone as thicker particles pass through the bottom section. Anything that goes through the bottom section will meet the mud cleaner.
While a hydrocyclone can help purify mud to some extent, the mud cleaner is responsible for purifying the mud even further. The drilling fluids cleaner is little more than a mesh with fine holes made to let tiny particles pass through. Anything that is tiny enough to pass through the holes will meet and blend with the purified mud expelled from the hydrocyclone.
Maintenance of all drilling fluids mud cleaner assembly as follows:
1. Vibration motor maintenance
(1) Clean dust on shell regularly.
(2) Before operating, the bolts must be checked to confirm whether there is loose or not. Otherwise, we must screw bolts tight before running shaker.
(3) Inspect the cable, whether it is worn, held down, crushed, etc.
(4) The vibration motor should be under good lubrication during operation motors before being fixed on shaker, the bearing is filled with SKF specific lubricate grease, the temperature range is -40 ~ 200℃.
2. Shaker screen maintenance
(1) Before every shut off, the shaker should run without any load for 5-10 minutes, at the same time, use clean water to flush screen clean.
(2) Every time finish operation, the shaker frame and screen should be flushed by water. Please replace new screen or repair the damaged screen once it is found damage, otherwise large cutting may drop into the clean mud and influence the following process.
3. Wear parts replacement

The user should check and replace the wear parts regularly, except for vibration motor, shaker screen, electric cabinet mentioned above. Locking wedge, composite vibration spring, sealing rubber should be replaced at once.

Operational notices of drilling fluids shear pump

As a proven effective machinery, shear pump is specialized in cutting polymer and clay and is widely used to drilling site. In drilling fluid solids control system, the polymer (or clay) should sufficiently cut in advance before re-entering the drilling fluid system, to give full play to its effectiveness and improve drilling fluids performance. If not fully cut, it is possible that the polymer in the first cycle plugs the vibrating screen, resulting in the loss of massive polymer, increasing drilling costs and also making solid particles in large size which are hard and difficult to get rid of; In well completion, if drilling fluids is not sufficient to be sheared, the polymer will form a lot of "fish eyes", which will hurt the formation so that permeability of formation and reservoir production greatly reduce.

Operational notices of drilling fluids shear pump:

1. After using shear pump, we should use clear water flush pipeline and shear pump, to avoid leftover block runner and nozzle of impeller.
2. Bearing bore is filled in grease about 10~20ml every other week, combination seal cavity is filled in grease about 10~20ml every day.
3. In winter, if the pump will not used for a long time, drilling fluid in pump shell should be discharged, to avoid drilling fluid freeze.
All in all, shear pump provides the fast mud configuration and treatment for the user, to satisfy project requirements for high performance mud.
