As for horizontal screw decanter centrifuge

A decanter centrifuge is an excellent drilling mud solids control equipment for separating liquid and solid mixtures in the field of oil drilling mud solids control. Industrial work and water processing plants are often tasked with purifying substances with variable amounts of solid material, and a decanter centrifuge is engineered to remove any and all contaminates from sewage and effluent sludge. Decanting centrifuge is also capable of separating disparate fluids such as weighted or non-weighted oil and water based liquids. For example, those in the beverage industry commonly employ decanter centrifuges to extract juices. Utilizing basic gravitational force, the centrifuge divides the denser, weightier solids from the lighter, effluviant liquid. Consequently, decanter centrifuges are utilized by a variety of industries with applications extending from water processing to the manufacturing of stainless steel.

The two primary types of Decanter centrifuges are:

1. Solid Bowl Decanter Centrifuge
This centrifuge is encased in a shell comprised of two layers. The outer layer has a tapered aperture which allows solids to discharge as the bowl rotates. The inner layer is a hollow case molded to match the outline of the bowl. The resulting centrifuge mitigates the amount of moisture in the cake and produces material with a higher quality centrate. Solid bowl decanters are manufactured with two or three phases, and are generally inexpensive to purchase and maintain. Their environmental impact is minimal and in full compliance with CE regulations.
2. Screen Bowl Decanter Centrifuge

Ranging in 160mm to 1400mm in diameter, screen bowl decanter centrifuges are engineered to separate materials with better overall washing efficiency. Primarily used in separating polyolefins and minerals, these decanters work in multiple phases, starting with sedimentation and clarification before moving on to the water removal process.

The working environments of Decanter centrifuge:

1.Oil and Gas Drilling is the first environment for centrifuge working in the drilling industry. Decanter centrifuge spec is very strict for this environment. Normally IECEX/ATEX explosion proof standard is required for developed countries;
2.Drilling waste management industry is growing very fast and popular in Latin America and middle east. Cutting Dryer, Hi-G dryer and decanter centrifuge is the core equipment for drilling waste management system;

3.CBM/HDD drilling is the new markets that require decanter centrifuge. It was seldom that clients need centrifuge to save cost but more and more clients like to working a centrifuge for better performance.

There are several types of decanter centrifuges currently utilized in the industry, the most common of which are vertical, horizontal and conveyor centrifuges. The principle behind a solid control decanter centrifuge is based on the theory of gravitational separation. For example, if you fill a glass with a mixture of mud and water, over time the weight of the mud will cause it to settle down at the base of the glass. With the mud congealed at the bottom, the water will be forced upwards, creating a clear separation between the two.

AWD angle adjustment system of Linear motion shale shaker

Drilling fluids shale shaker is the primary solids control equipment that removes drill cuttings from the drilling fluid while circulating and drilling. There are many different designs and research into the best design is constantly ongoing since solids control is vital in keeping down costs associated with the drilling fluid. In oil & gas drilling solids control industry, linear motion shale shaker are widely used for drilling mud solids control system.
Oil drilling mud shale shaker is designed according to linear motion locus vibration produced by screen surface. Two set motors midperpendicular and shale shaker become into a corner.
AWD angle adjustment system of Linear motion shale shaker:
The angle adjustment system while drilling, AWD for short, can raise or lower the screen basket end during the work. This part includes two vertical column assemblies that are connected on the upper column assembly and are attached to the shaker base.
The movable part of AWD consists of the lower column,limit device that controls vertical movement and hydro jack that drives the upward & downward movement of the screen basket. The fixed ends of jack are connected in upper column assemblies and the movable piston bar is fixed in the lower column assembly. Reciprocately pulling the operating grip of the hand pump or starting the oil return valve of the hand pump can make the screen basket move upward and downward respectively. The screen basket can be adjusted within -1°~+5°. Fix and lock the elevator with clamp pin at the suitable angle, which can reduce the attack on the hydraulic pump when the basket is running at this angle.
Under the operation of shale shaker, two motors synchronization contrarotation make vibrator produce the reverse exciting force, to comple shale shaker drive screen do longitudinal motion make the materials throw a periodicity gunshot by exciting force, and complete materials screening works.
Shale shaker adapts quarry screening sand, also can provide the commodity grading to coal dressing, building materials, electric power and chemical industry. The works part of shale shaker is fixed, material obtained the screen rely on the materials glide along with the working surface.

The fixed frame shale shaker is far and wide used in dressing plant. Usually it used to prescreening before coarse crushing or secondary crushing. Its structure is compact and convenient to manufacture. It can directly unload to the mineral to the screen ssurface, the main defect is production rate is lower and screening efficiency is low.

How does oilfield decanting centrifuge operate?

A decanting centrifuge employs the same principles of gravitational force. However, unlike the glass mixture, the process is expedited through the use of continuous rotation. In fact, rotation provides anywhere from 1000 to 4000 times the normal gravitational force, reducing the time required for separation from hours to seconds.It plays an important role in oilfield drilling mud solids control system.
The concept of rotational separation is similar to rides found at amusement parks and county fairgrounds. In these rides, placing yourself at an angle allows you to overcome the gravitational forces induced by rotation. Similarly, a solids control equipment decanter centrifuge is essentially a bowl tube that rotates at an extremely high speed. The bowl tube is equipped with an internal conveyor which moves in the same direction but at a different velocity.
Step 1: The slurry is inserted into the centrifuge through a connecting pipe and onto a conveyor.
Step 2: Utilizing an internal feed compartment, the conveyor ushers the slurry through a nozzle into the bowl area.
Step 3: The bowl rotates at high speeds to induce gravitational forces.
Step 4: High speed rotation separates the solid material from the liquid in a matter of seconds. Step 5: The conveyor delivers the solid material upwards where it is discharged through a nozzle. Step 6: The solid material removed, the purified liquid is released from a separate output.
The ability to purify a liquid makes drilling mud decanter centrifuge ideal for waste water treatment facilities. However, there are variety of industries for which such centrifuges play an important role. Similar to other decanter equipment, decanting centrifuges are simple to install and do not require a foundation to build upon. Their efficiency saves time and materials and is an essential component for many blue collar industries.

In many industrial jobs, solid material often mixes with liquids, contaminating water supplies or turning mud into sludge. A decanter centrifuge is useful in that it separates solids and liquids, and has become an essential component of water waste facilities and the chemical, oil, and food processing industries. Moreover, without a centrifuge, many of these companies would become so inefficient they could not function.

There are several types of decanter centrifuges currently utilized in the industry, the most common of which are vertical, horizontal and conveyor centrifuges.
